Thrive Logo-color copy_edited.jpg

This page is dedicated to helping us learn to pray. Prayer should not be about just asking God to give us the strength to endure the suffering of life. Prayer is a weapon and is an offering to the Lord. Below are some areas where we all struggle and prayers to help guid us to asking for God's grace and mercy.

Seeking prayer for

Anxiety

Heavenly Father,

We come to You this morning on behalf of our dear brother (or sister) who is struggling under the weight of anxiety, fear, and hopelessness. Lord, You see the depths of his heart and know exactly what he is going through. Right now, we ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to surround him and fill every part of his being.

Father, we know that these feelings of dread and despair are not from You, for You have given us a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We ask that You break every chain of fear and hopelessness that is trying to bind him. Replace it with the truth of Your Word, that You are with him, You are for him, and You have plans to give him a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Jesus, You said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). May he find rest in Your presence today. Quiet the storm in his mind and calm his spirit, Lord. Remind him that You are his refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Holy Spirit, breathe life into his soul. Uplift him with Your joy, for Your joy is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Surround him with Your love, and may he feel the prayers and support of those who care for him deeply.

Lord, we believe that You are greater than this storm and that healing, peace, and hope are on the way. Thank You for hearing our prayers and for never leaving or forsaking us. We trust You completely with his heart and his mind.

In Jesus’ powerful name,Amen.

Insomnia

Heavenly Father,

I come to You tonight in the name of Jesus, seeking the rest that You have promised me. Lord, You are my refuge and my peace, yet I find myself struggling to sleep. My mind is restless, my body is weary, and the enemy tries to fill my night with anxiety, fear, and distractions. But I refuse to accept this torment because Your Word declares that You give sleep to those You love (Psalm 127:2). And I know You love me.

Right now, I take authority over every force that is trying to steal my rest. In Jesus’ name, I rebuke every spirit of fear, worry, and oppression that is attacking my mind. I declare that the enemy has no power over me or my sleep! The blood of Jesus covers me, and His peace surrounds me.

Lord, Your Word says:📖 “When I lie down, I will not be afraid; when I lie down, my sleep will be sweet.” (Proverbs 3:24)📖 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)So tonight, I choose to trust in You. I release every burden, every worry, and every anxious thought into Your hands. I breathe in Your peace, and I exhale every ounce of fear. Holy Spirit, fill my room with Your presence. Let Your angels stand guard over me as I sleep.I declare that my body will relax, my mind will be still, and my spirit will rest in You. I reject every lie that says I cannot sleep. I will sleep, and I will wake up refreshed, renewed, and ready for the day ahead. Thank You, Lord, for being my peace and my rest.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Pain

Heavenly Father,

I come before You, weary and burdened by this relentless pain. Lord, You are my Creator, my Healer, and my ever-present help in times of trouble. Right now, I need You. This pain feels unshakable, like a weight I cannot lift—but I know nothing is impossible for You.

Father, I declare Your truth over my body:
📖 “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
📖 “The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.” (Psalm 41:3)

In Jesus’ name, I rebuke this affliction! Pain is not my portion—healing is. Suffering is not my inheritance—peace is. The enemy has no claim over my body, for I am covered by the blood of Jesus. Lord, I ask that You touch every nerve, muscle, and joint with Your divine healing power. Command the pain to leave, restore what is broken, and flood my body with Your presence.

But Father, even in this valley, I trust You. If relief does not come instantly, I know You are still working. Give me supernatural endurance, unshakable faith, and the ability to see beyond this moment of suffering. Remind me that pain does not define me—You do.

Lord, bring comfort when the nights are long and the days are hard. Speak peace over my weary soul and renew my strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). I believe that better days are ahead because You are my God, my Healer, and my Restorer.

Thank You, Lord, for hearing me. I stand in faith, believing for healing, and I receive Your peace.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Loss of Loved One / Grief

Heavenly Father,

I come to You with a heart that is aching. The weight of this loss is more than I can bear alone, and I need You now more than ever. You are the God of all comfort, the One who sees every tear and understands my pain. Hold me close, Lord. Wrap me in Your peace.

Your Word says:
📖 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
📖 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4)

Right now, I ask for Your presence to fill this emptiness inside me. The sorrow feels unshakable, but I know You are with me. Help me, Lord, to grieve in a way that brings healing. Remind me that it’s okay to feel this pain, but also show me how to walk through it with You.

Father, I release every question, every “why,” and every ounce of my heartbreak into Your hands. Even when I don’t understand, I choose to trust You. Give me strength for today, hope for tomorrow, and the assurance that I am never alone.

Lord, if my loved one is in Your presence, I thank You for the hope of reunion one day. Until then, help me honor their life by living mine fully, leaning on You each step of the way.

Thank You for Your love that never fails, Your arms that never let go, and Your promise to bring beauty even from sorrow. I receive Your comfort today.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Marriage in Trouble

Heavenly Father,

I come before You today with a heavy heart, lifting up my marriage to You. You are the author of love, the One who joined us together, and I know that what You have joined, no one can tear apart (Mark 10:9). But right now, Lord, we are struggling. The enemy has tried to plant division, resentment, and pain between us, but I refuse to let him win!

In Jesus’ name, I rebuke every attack against our marriage. Every lie of the enemy, every scheme of destruction, every root of bitterness—I cast them out and surrender this marriage to You, God. Let Your Spirit move through our hearts and our home. Bring peace where there is tension, healing where there are wounds, and love where there is distance.

Your Word says:
📖 “A cord of three strands is not easily broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12)
📖 “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.” (1 Corinthians 13:7-8)

Lord, remind us of the love that brought us together. Rekindle the passion, the joy, and the deep commitment that once felt unshakable. Help us to fight for our marriage—not against each other, but together, against the real enemy.

Give us the humility to forgive, the wisdom to communicate, and the grace to see each other through Your eyes. Let our hearts soften, our words be gentle, and our actions reflect Your love.

I declare restoration, renewal, and revival over this marriage. Let what seems broken be made whole. Let what feels lost be found. And let our testimony be one of Your faithfulness.

Thank You, Lord, for being our firm foundation. I trust You to do what only You can do.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

This is a warrior’s prayer for marriage!

Troubled Teen or Child

Heavenly Father,

I come before You with a heart that is both heavy and hopeful. You see my child. You know their struggles, their pain, their rebellion, and the battles they face. And You love them more than I ever could. Right now, Lord, I surrender them to You.

Father, I ask that You break every stronghold, silence every lie, and remove every influence that is leading them away from You. If they are angry, bring peace. If they are lost, bring them home. If they are hurting, be their healer. You created them with a purpose, and I declare that the enemy will not steal their destiny!

📖 “All your children will be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace.” (Isaiah 54:13)
📖 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

Lord, where I feel helpless, You are able. Give me wisdom to parent with grace and strength. Help me to speak life when I feel frustrated, to show love when I feel weary, and to trust You even when I don’t see immediate change.

I declare that my child is not defined by their mistakes, but by the calling You have placed on their life. Lord, chase them down with Your love. Convict their heart, open their eyes, and remind them of who they are in You. Let them know they are never too far gone for Your grace.

I believe that this battle is not over. I will keep praying, keep trusting, and keep standing on Your promises. Thank You for fighting for my child, for surrounding them with Your presence, and for writing a greater story than I can see right now.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Sexual Temptation / Lustful Thoughts

Heavenly Father,

I come to You today, fully aware of the battle in my mind and body. Lord, You see the temptations I face, the struggles I wrestle with, and the thoughts that try to pull me away from You. I don’t want to be a slave to lust. I want to walk in purity, honor, and self-control.

Your Word says:
“God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)

Father, I ask You to purify my heart and renew my mind. When lustful thoughts arise, help me take them captive and make them obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Strengthen me to turn away from anything that fuels temptation—whether it’s certain images, conversations, or habits. Give me the wisdom to guard my eyes, my ears, and my heart.

Lord, I renounce every lie of the enemy that says I am powerless against this struggle. I am not a prisoner to lust—I am a child of God, redeemed and set free. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, I declare victory over temptation in Jesus’ name!

When I feel weak, remind me that You are my strength. When I feel alone in this battle, remind me that You are with me. Help me walk in holiness, not out of guilt, but out of love for You.

Thank You for Your grace, Your forgiveness, and Your power that enables me to overcome. I trust You to transform me from the inside out.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Trusting God / Trusting Others

Heavenly Father,

I come before You with an open heart, knowing that trusting You has not always been easy for me. Life has let me down, people have let me down, and sometimes, if I’m honest, I’ve wondered if You would let me down too. But deep down, I know You are good. I know You are faithful. I just need You to help my heart believe it.

Your Word says:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” (Psalm 56:3)

Lord, I release my fears, my doubts, and my need for control into Your hands. I surrender the walls I’ve built up—the ones that have kept me from fully resting in Your promises. Teach me what it truly means to trust You with all my heart, even when I don’t understand.

Where my trust has been broken by others, heal me. Where disappointments have made me cautious, renew my faith. Where my past makes it hard to believe in Your goodness, remind me that You are not like man—You do not fail, You do not lie, and You never abandon Your children.

Help me to step out in faith, to rely on Your timing, and to believe that You are working all things for my good, even when I can’t see it. Teach me to rest in You and to know, deep in my soul, that You are trustworthy.

Thank You for Your patience with me, for Your constant love, and for never giving up on me. Today, I choose to trust You—not just with my words, but with my whole heart.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
